I finished it last night and this morning had a photo shoot with my girl.
Lighting was kinda crappy today in the wake of yesterday's Nor'easter.
Pattern: my own. Basically just a top down raglan with seed stitch bands.
I double increased along seam lines in the front and the back ev
ery 6 row (or so) rows for maximum swingy-ness and some nice princess seams.
There are pockets along the side seams and I added a little seed stitch band at the front of the pocket with a button detail.
There are also 3/4 length sleeves (which means the sleeves won't get trailed into applesauce and finger paints).
Yarn: Nashua Cilantro in Marine
Needle: US 9
Buttons: 1920s French yellow glass buttons
And special thanks to Grumperina (do I even have to link you over there? Oh, okay!) and Trish (sadly, blogless) who were with me when I first sketched out the design and helped me work out some of the special details of the design. Thanks ladies!!!
I definitely got the swing coat
hankering out of my system knitting this one for the girl. Next up, something for me!

So in love with the Swing Coat! You could have published that pattern, you know. Maybe you still can. Maybe you don't care to spend the extra time to write it up, tho. Anywho, it's extra cute! LL looks great in it, and I'm sure she's thankful for the pockets.

Adorable. And I love LL with her hands in the pockets--so Sandra Bullock at the '06 Oscars.

great pattern! you should release it. (not that i have any girls to knit it for) but i think it would be hugely popular.

i agree with jacq -- i think the pattern would do really well.

LOVE it. Now, could you, um, design that in a me size? Thanks. I still maintain my position that the best knit designs are made for the little people.

So sweet! I was thinking the same thing as others, that you could publish the pattern. It could be a bit of a pain to get it down on paper/screen, I suppose. Lily is just adorable, I also loved the beret.

Love it, love it, love it! It's patterns like that that make me wish I had a girl. Boys (I have three) don't get anything cute. If I forget myself enough to even use that word around my seven-year-old, he runs upstairs to change. Definitely publish it.
