November 17, 2007

and, now, a quiet weekend

BL + LL flew to Pennsylvania for some quality time with the grandparents, leaving me along to stay in my pajamas, watch crappy movies and get some knitting done.

Roam

I'm still working on the back of Roam. Slow going there. All seed stitch. Gah.

Squares

I'm making glacial progress on the  buncha panties blanket. Five squares done and 25 more to  go. It's possible I may be done with this project before next winter. Hah!

Fabric_goodness And a quick shopping trip last night resulted in this lovely grouping of fabric. I just need some inspiration to turn it into the perfect throw-sized quilt.

And since I didn't have LL as my shopping partner today, I headed over to an antique store that I've been meaning to check out. Jeezus! I've never been in a store that utilized that much air freshener. Why, why, why do this to your customers? I came home smelly and itchy. And with no purchases.

Ooh, time alone. That sounds really nice. Happy crafting!

The blanket looks fabulous, and I love all the colors too. Good luck knitting all the seed stitch too, it does get quite monotonous after a little while doesnt it.

At last! Someone who understands my special loathing for air freshener! It kills me. It sets my allergies off to the point where I have to run out the store sneezing and wheezing.

Glad to see you have had lots of antiquing/crafting/knitting time. I love the way the seed stitch shows off the yarn's tweediness - it's so worth the time.

Such lovely fabric!

Boo to the air freshener. That is always a major turn off to me, too.

The loggy squares are truly gorgeous.

sounds like you're all set for a great weekend!

i have to thank you for pointing out roam. the original didn't do much for me, but seeing your solid version in seed stitch and i'm sold.

(sure to be cussing this fact once i get knitting it though)

enjoy the rest of your relaxing weekend!

I'm with you on the seed stitch slog...the minimalist cardi I've got on the stix is all moss...yarn back, yarn front, yarn back, yarn front, yarn back, yarn front...

The buncha panties blanket makes me smile every time you mention it. The seed stitch looks like hell, but I bet it will be gorgeous once done.

Hooray for time alone!

I'm drooling over all the fabric you got....so pretty. The flower and vine pattern of the bottom fabric would make a great intarsia design/fair isle design.
