Another baby sweater
I'm still thinking about buttons...I dunno, maybe something more colorful?
The yarn I used is Handmaiden Flaxen which is composed of silk + linen. It is absolutely gorgeous. Absolutely friggin gorgeous. Texture, color, resulting fabric are astonishing. I must make an adult-sized garment for myself out of this yarn.

so beautiful.

Oh it is beautiful. I dont think you need fancy buttons with such a beautiful colored yarn. Perhaps some with blue in them, or do those ones already have a smidgen of blue.

I just love the edging on that sweater, so classic and lovely! I'm with Sue, I don't think you need fancier buttons. The yarn can more than speak for itself.

So cute. I like the little mother-of-pearl (?) buttons, but some that would pick up the blue or yellow of the yarn could be pretty too.

It looks great. I love the variegation of the yarn.

Beautiful yarn and pattern! I like those buttons.

What a beautiful sweater! I would keep the iridescent mother of pearl. That way there's a little sparkle but the gorgeous yarn is still the headliner. Great job!

Wow, that is just gorgeous. I love the off center cardi too. I like the buttons you chose - I think you should keep them!

Totally freakin' cute! I love the buttons. Don't overthink it. Buttons can be replaced!

So, which pattern is this and how can I get it? ;)
Also, the last baby sweater I knit (the Elizabeth Zimmerman one) called for buttons and I was worried (because that's what I do) that they'd fall off and choke the baby. So, I ended up inserting ribbons in the buttonholes, which were a big hit. BUT, you can't do this everytime, so what does a person do to make sure they are secure??
Sincerely,
Overly Worried in Providence

I love the buttons you chose! They're lovely, and they'll let the sweater shine in its own right.

Catching up. I think the buttons are nice! I love the colors in the sweater, and think the buttons are almost secondary, really. But if you had really outrageious buttons that you just had to use, I am sure that would work too, but I like the buttons you have here...

I love that sweater. That yarn looks lovely. It's been on my list of to-dos, but you know how those lists always go out of control.
