taking a break from the baby sweater

To make a luscious cowl.

Cowl

Yarn: Handmaiden Swiss Mountain Cotton Silk in Topaz
Pattern: Nova's Birthday Cowl
Mods: My gauge was 6 st =1" using US 6 needles. I cast on 121 stitches.

The pattern was simple and easily memorized. The resulting cowl is gorgeous and the yarn is heavenly.

Thanks Nova for a great pattern!

Knitting with my girls

Just days ago, I spent a truly magical weekend in Philly. There was much knitterly love in my hometown. There was shopping, knitting with beer, a hilarious stories about balls, greasy diner food, and so much more.

Including cowls. Oh, the cowls.
Elinor
Here's Elinor sporting the cowl I knit for her in Tilli Tomas Plie. Isn't she the cutest? Better shots of the cowl to be found here.

And Christy knit me a cowl in Skacel Urban Silk. It is gorgeous! But where is the picture? I'm an idiot. There is no picture of me in the cowl. Wha??? What happened? You'll have to wait until next post so I can get a good pic of myself in the cowl. Until next time...

Another baby sweater

I'm still thinking about buttons...I dunno, maybe something more colorful?

The yarn I used is Handmaiden Flaxen which is composed of silk + linen. It is absolutely gorgeous. Absolutely friggin gorgeous. Texture, color, resulting fabric are astonishing. I must make an adult-sized garment for myself out of this yarn.

Little purses

How the purlbee inspires me! Here are some cute purses I made for a couple of my nieces using the Molly's Little Purses tutorial.

Sewing on the little handles was painful (I think I need a thimble), but the result is so cute!
