Erin and I decided to tackle Rhinebeck this year with two little girls in tow.
One of whom was mine.
We had a fantastic time seeing friends. eating food, looking at animals (not something I choose to do but something the girl enjoyed) and checking out other people's handknits. I brought my camera both days but took only a few pictures. And my kid is in most of them.
So here's just a few
Look at all those lovely people! And I met so many more that I knew from online but had never met in person. And I missed out on taking their pictures.
I was a bit distracted.
(please, god, send me more sugar)
(for the love of god, why is this woman talking when there's a BOUNCY CASTLE?!!?)
(didn't she bribe me with the promise of baby goats? where are they? not in this barn full of yarn I can tell you that much)
I did buy some vintage buttons but no yarn. I bought A LOT of food.
The girls had a fantastic time together. Staying up late in a hotel room is heaven when you're 5. And yes, she did get to commune with the animals whilst I stood awkwardly nearby.
And she did eat her fair share of sugar and processed meat.
All in all, Rhinebeck success, happy memories and happy planning for next year.
I'm kind of digging the binoculars and Zara jacket combo - she's like a Jane Goodall at the fair, looking for her animals.
And her bouncy house. And her popcorn. And her ice cream.
I finally told Zoe I spent the weekend with Lily and Geneva. She took it well and asked if we couldn't have a three way playdate soon, so we will. And maybe I'll provide some popcorn and some ice cream....
Big thanks again. You guys were awesome and I totally appreciate your taking in of this stray!!

Awww....I am sure the little girls had a super time. I keep saying I am waiting for Melody to be older to take her, but I might be using that excuse for longer. I am with her 24/7 so it's nice to have a little break and get some me time. Plus, I get so absorbed with all the yarn. I told my husband that there is a lot of activities for kids and he said maybe we can all go next year.
I got to meet Craftivore in person on Saturday.
