While my grandmother taught me to knit when I was a little girl, I really didn't pick up the sticks again until 2003.
Here's the first project a garter stitch scarf knit from Berroco Pronto.
It's a homely thing but I still love it and wear it.
AKA pussy scarf
Yarn: Rowan Calmer in Calmer and Novelty Yarn with little poofs in blue and brown held together.
Just garter stitch.
I said that the little poofs looked like pussy willow buds. You can imagine the only word that BL heard in that sentence and hence the name of the scarf.
Yarn: Classic Elite Isabella in purple orange multi
Pattern: Yarn Girl's Guide to Simple Knits
No pattern, just seed stitch done in Tahki Cotton Classic in various shades of orange, brown and cream for my brother.
He lives in Texas so he wears this scarf about two hours per year.
Pattern: Yarn Girls Guide to Simple Knits
Yarn: Berroco Suede in Hopalong Cassidy
Thanks Martha for keeping the trend alive as I spent big bucks on this poncho.
Behold the sweater I made for my grandmother when she turned 100 in September 2004. This is the grandmother who taught me how to knit when I was 5. Thanks Nonna!
Yarn: Joseph Galler Inca Cotton
Pattern: Yarn Girl's Guide to Simple Knits
Hat for my good friend's son that I made for him when he was born in 2004. This picture was taken in 2005 when the little guy turned one.
Yarn: Tahki Cotton Classic
Pattern: variation of Luggy Hat from Weekend Knitting
Pattern: Whisper from Rowan Calmer Collection
Yarn: Rowan Calmer in Jewel (discontinued)
I love this sweater to pieces!
